Figuring out how to play Blu-ray in Ubuntu or any Linux Distribution can be pretty annoying due to the DRM and encryption of Blu-ray. Most of the methods of playing Blu-ray as of this post usually require some type of workaround to decrypt and stream the movie. However, if you’re like me, and like to backup your movies so you can use it on a media center, PS3 or for just the sake of backing it up, you can still rip the movie and transcode it into a reasonable size for storage. Below is probably the easiest way I have found to Rip and Transcode a Bluray Disc.
